The House has a very large garden with two ponds and the barn adjoining the house, overlooking the rear garden, has been converted into 3 very attractive en-suite bedrooms. Houghton Meadow closeby (just 200 yards from our front door) is 20 acres of meadow, now carpeted by grassland which includes plants like green-winged orchid, yellow rattle, salad burnet and pepper saxifrage. Explore the Ouse Valley Way and over 26 miles of riverside walks with 6 itineraries/maps, varying from 2 miles upwards. Visit the thicket, a 500 metre long steep bank of ash, field maple woodland and home to a variety of native woodland animals and plants. Cambridge is a delight to visit in any season: relax in its many pubs, restaurants and cafes whilst exploring the independent shops around the historic market place. There are brand new shopping areas too, with all the high street favourites that you would expect. Be inspired by the museums and art galleries; spot the stars of the future at a student theatrical production, or see a show at the Arts Theatre. Film, live music of all kinds, poetry readings, public lectures - enter into the intellectual life of the students while you are here. Cambridge is easy to get to by road, rail or air ? just 50 minutes from central London and 20 minutes from London Stansted Airport.
